Por Kee Eating House is a highly-respected Zi Char place that really knows how to get wok hei into their dishes. It’s located in Tiong Bahru, a beautiful neighbourhood of Singapore, and is open quite late (until 11:30pm as far as I can tell).
Although this is only the first review on this blog, I’ve had Yangzhou fried rice many times, and this is one of the best. It gets full marks for Wok Hei, and I was pleasantly surprised to find just how darkened the rice was when it was ready. It was a light grey colour and the wok hei smell was undeniable before even digging in.
